SBL Hurricanes – Stanford Summer Classic Champions!

Congratulations to the SBL Hurricanes, winners of the Stanford Summer Classic this weekend. They went into the finals undefeated with an 8-1 win over the MVLA Avalanche, a 2-0 win over the Mustang Blaze, and a 3-0 win over Palo Alto SC. The final game with PSV Union was a nail-biter as they went into extra time tied at 2-2. That extra 10 minutes was all they needed to come through with 2 goals to win First Place with a 4-2 win. Great Job on the Win Girls - Keep Playing Hard!

Congratulations Tornados! 1st Place in Juventus and 2nd Place in Soccer by the Bay Tourneys!

The Tornados came in first place(silver bracket) in the Juventis tournament of champions, and 2nd place in Soccer by the Bay tournament(silver bracket). The competition was tough. The girls never gave up. In the SBTB tournament it came down to the final game in duble over-time,before the only goal scored on the Tornados, put them in 2nd place.

Aftershocks, Girls U12 Gold Champions!

Congratulations to the SBL Aftershocks for winning first place in the Soccer by the Bay tourney. The championship game ended in PKs where the Aftershocks pulled out a 4-2 win over the Modesto Ajax.

Free Goalkeeping Coaching Clinics 2012

District One his happy to announce free Goalkeeper Coaches clinics to all CYSA registered coaches and goalkeepers.
The clinic is intended for one goalkeeper and one coach. Every goal keeper should bring a ball, gloves and uniform and be prepared to play.

The clinic will be offered 9am - 11am at South Sunset in San Francisco.

The clinic is offered four times on these dates: 7/21/2012; 7/28/2012; 8/4/2012; 8/11/2012

Fireworks Fundraiser
SBL Soccer Club holds an annual fundraising to assist all our club soccer teams. Every July we take part in selling fireworks in a booth conveniently located at European Car Service 928 El Camino Real  San Bruno, CA. The booth is located just across from Chili's Restaurant south of Tanforan Shopping Center.

Congratulations Aftershocks, Finalist SCSG Invitational!

Congratulations to the San Bruno Lowen Aftershocks (Girls U11), Finalist (Second Place) in the second annual Santa Clara Sporting Girls Invitational Tournament! This event is reserved for elite Class 1 Girls teams in the U8-U19 age group and the SBL Aftershocks received a coveted invitation to compete.

Competition in Morgan Hill was stiff but the girls came on top of Bracket A and followed up with a win in the semi-finals. They started with a 2-0 win over the Flames United FC on Saturday morning followed up by a 1-0 win over the Burlingame Rays later in the day. Then on Sunday afternoon they came through in a tough game against California Odyssey with a 3-2 win. That win placed them in the semi-finals where they defeated Manteca Futbol United 2-0.

Monday morning's final was a battle with both teams challenging each other and fighting hard for the win. The match culminated with a narrow 1-0 win by the San Juan SC Spirits led by Coach Curtis Holmes. This was the first showing of the SBL Aftershocks and they're hoping for an invitation next year because they plan on bringing home the First Place trophy!
